Natalie Platschka; My parents are Winfried and Leslie Platschka.
I started swimming with the Southridge Lakes Barracudas in the summer before 6h grade. At first, I hated it and wanted to cry. But later I received he MVP award and realized that I was somewhat good at swimming, so I stuck with it. The next summer I joined Southlake Stingrays. Later I joined the Carroll High School swim team.
Swimming has taught me discipline and a healthy way of lfe. When I don’t swim, I honestly don’t feel as positive physically or emotionally. I will exercise my entire life because of what swimming has given me.
My best swimming memory is when it was around 7:00 AM in the winter of my junior year and Coach Murphy was racing to get to a swim meet. I was sitting in the back of the bus and we were all cracking up because we kept falling out of our seats due to the velocity of the bus.
My favorite Coach Murphy quote: “What type of wood doesn’t float? Natalie Wood!”
I will be attending college after graduation. I have been accepted at the University of Arkansas and Baylor University and am awaiting other acceptance letters. I also plan on swimming for exercise and fitness on a regular basis.
