Taylor Derevyanik; my parents are Kathy and Roy Derevyanik, and I have a little brother, Kyle.

I started swimming when I was 3, in Connecticut.  My Dad would take me to the YMCA for Daddy and Me classes and I loved the water.  So my parents enrolled me in swim classes when we moved to Arkansas.

Swimming has taught me discipline and time management.

My funniest swimming memory was when I kept pulling on the lane rope and Coach Murphy pretended to put on electrical cord on the rope and said it would shock me if I pulled on it.

My favorite Coach Murphy story is Cliffy Webb.  And my favorite Coach Murphy quote is “swim hard, have fun, be smilin’ when you’re done.”

I haven’t yet decided where I’m going to college yet.
